His Courage

He’d been sitting next to her, looking at his loafers, for what seemed like hours before he had the courage to reach over and take her hand. He felt her small hand in his and continued to look at the rest of their friends as they sat talking. He barely heard the conversation. He took a small breath before glancing to his right. He blushed as his eyes met hers. He looked down at her mouth and saw a shy smile. Looking away, he knew that he’d marry her someday.
